This submerged aquatic plant can be found in the Netherlands in some places in ditches or canals. Originally, this species is not native to the Netherlands. However, in our climate this oxygen plant survives without any problems. This makes it a hardy oxygen plant. However, it is a prerequisite that this water plant is deep enough. 60-80 cm is a good size.<\/p><p>For the pond, this species is a good choice. This is because it grows extremely fast. The advantage of this characteristic for your pond is that it gives algae less chance to grow, as they use the same nutrients. In addition, this aquatic plant is able to extract nutrients directly from the water. So can algae.
