It is an aquatic plant that originally grows in North America. Sometime in the 19th century, this little plant came along to the Netherlands, where it feels perfectly at home.  It is therefore found in many places in the Netherlands. It also causes problems. It grows extremely fast, sometimes completely clogging up shallow waterways. Pleasure boating then suffers greatly. The decision is then usually made to mow the ditches. The advantage is that this also removes many nutrients from the water.<\/p><p>Narrow Waterweed is no longer sold due to its invasive properties.
