The floating leaves of this oxygen plant provide the water with shade. The green leaves under water also produce essential oxygen. In addition, this is a fast-growing oxygen plant. This ensures that it needs a lot of nutrients to keep growing. The floating leaves of Callitriche Platycarpa will cover part of the pond and provide shade. Therefore, less sun enters the pond and the water warms up less quickly.<\/p><p>Both of these properties are useful for competing with the algae living in your pond. This is because algae need the same nutrients as Callitriche Platycarpa to grow. Algae also need light. With less light entering the water, algae have less chance. So besides being a beautiful plant for your pond, Callitriche Platycarpa is also a useful plant!
