Since recently, we also have a\u00a0special package<\/a>\u00a0with oxygen plants, 10 bunches of various plants (including\u00a0Hornleaf<\/a>,\u00a0Waterweed<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Pondweed<\/a>) of high quality for only \u20ac24.95. The oxygen plants are sent moist in waterproof packaging so they can be sent by parcel post so you don't necessarily have to come and collect them. How many oxygen plants you need depends on the volume of your pond. Four to five bunches of oxygen plants per cubic metre of pond volume give the best results in terms of oxygen and clarity. In addition, with this number you keep algae in the pond under control because the oxygen plants compete with the algae for nutrients in the water. Often, for cost-saving reasons, people choose to have fewer oxygen plants, but this will yield much inferior results!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Determining pond content<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

You can calculate the volume of your pond in a number of ways.<\/p>

Do you have a circular pond? You first determine the radius of the pond in metres. The radius is half the diameter. Then you measure the depth in metres.<\/p>

On the calculator, you can then key in 3.14 x radius x radius x depth of the pond. Now you have the number of cubic metres. This could be 0.92 m3 for example, then round it up.<\/p>

Calculation example<\/strong>: If you have a round pond with an average depth of 1 metre and a radius of 50 cm (0.5 metres), you will do 3.14 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 1 = 0.785 m3.<\/p>

The volume of a rectangular pond is easier to determine. You measure the length and width of the pond in metres and then determine the depth in metres. On the calculator you then enter: width pond x length pond x depth pond. Now you have the volume of the pond in cubic metres on your screen.<\/p>

Calculation example<\/strong>: for a length of 1.5 metres, a width of 2 metres and a depth of 1.20 metres, type in 1.5 x 2 x 1.2 = 3.6 m3.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
