The plant floats just below the water surface, without roots, and has finely branched stems with small vesicles. These vesicles act as traps: when touched by a prey animal, a valve opens and the animal is sucked in using negative pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the summer months, yellow flowers appear, rising above the surface of the water.
