Vraatbescherming Zuurstofplanten
Annoying! Are you as a manager doing a good job of planting submerged aquatic plants to meet the WFD objectives, but everything gets eaten by carp and other fish! At Dutch Water Tech, we have come up with a solution for this: the Procrate.
Procrates: effective voracious protection
The Procrate is a biopolymer structure placed over submerged aquatic and riparian plants. The aquatic plants can then develop undisturbed. There is no need to remove the Procrate; it breaks down naturally in the water over the years. Naturally, no harmful substances are released in the process. It really is absorbed into the environment. The photo below shows a picture of a Procrate sheet after 1 year under water, for example.

Plants in Shallow Water
When the water level can be temporarily lowered, it is possible to plant (submerged) aquatic plants in the solid ground. It is then easy to put the Procrates over them.
Natural Boxes | Solutions for Deep Water
However, when the water is deeper than 30-40 cm, it becomes difficult to plant in the solid soil. It is then possible to use boxes with oxygen plants to be used. Made entirely of natural materials, these boxes can also be placed in deeper waters. These boxes can be combined with the Procrates.
DWT-REEF | Good for Flora and Fauna
Besides the boxes with oxygen plants, we also have another way to deploy submerged aquatic plants in water features. For example, the DWT-REEF. These are complete underwater reefs in which we can put oxygen plants.
You can read more about DWT-REEF and the boxes of aquatic plants on this page.
